About Giltiq

VAT validation in Germany is, on paper, a solved problem. VIES exists. BZSt exists. The regulatory framework is clear. In practice, engineering teams at German SaaS companies lose days to VIES downtime during filing peaks, scramble when API contracts change without notice, and ship invoicing workflows that are technically functional but quietly non-compliant.

Giltiq exists because that gap is worth closing properly.

The product combines VIES and BZSt validation with intelligent failover, audit-proof confirmation storage (§18e UStG), and a roadmap toward XRechnung and ZUGFeRD e-invoice generation as Germany's mandatory requirements come into force. The API is designed for production reality: structured JSON responses, machine-readable error handling, predictable versioning, and an MCP server for teams building AI agent workflows into their invoicing stack.

Who built this.

Giltiq was founded by Roel van der Ven, a technical product leader with experience as a co-founder, CTO, and product lead across B2B software companies. Roel lives and works in Falkensee near Berlin, Brandenburg. He built Giltiq after observing firsthand how often German engineering teams lose days to VIES downtime, BZSt integration failures, and compliance uncertainty — problems that a well-engineered API can solve once and solve properly.

How we operate.

Giltiq is independent and bootstrapped. The infrastructure runs on Hetzner in Frankfurt, subject to German data protection law and GDPR. No Cloudflare, no US cloud infrastructure. Support is handled by the people who built the product.

If your team issues intra-EU invoices and needs VAT validation you can depend on, with the compliance depth German law requires, Giltiq is built for you.
